A synthesis of a conjugate of chlorin e6 with b-D-lactose has been carried by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between a propargyl derivative of chlorin e6 and a sugar azide has been performed. The structure and conformation of the product have been studied by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy.
